A 36-year-old man has been charged with the murder of primary school teacher Sabina Nessa.

The suspect is believed to have worked as a food delivery driver in Eastbourne and is believed to be originally from Eastern Europe.
A kiosk worker near the apartment where he lived said that he would enter the store to recharge his phone or power key, but would not engage in conversation.
“He was so quiet, he didn’t say anything, he just walked over and left,” the store staff member said.
Mrs Nessa taught a freshman class at Rushey Green Primary School in Catford, also south east London.
On Friday, hundreds of people, including her sister, gathered for a candlelight vigil organized in Pegler Square, Kidbrooke, in memory of her.
Jebina Yasmin Islam, Ms. Nessa’s sister, collapsed when she addressed the crowd.
She said: ‘Words can’t describe how we feel, this feels like we’re caught in a bad dream and we can’t get out of it; our world is shattered, we are simply speechless.

Lisa Ramsarran of the Crown Prosecutor’s Office said: ‘The Crown Prosecutor’s Office has authorized the Metropolitan Police Service to charge 36-year-old Koci Selamaj with one count of murder.
The charge relates to the murder of 28-year-old primary school teacher Sabina Nessa in Kidbrooke, southeast London, on Friday, September 17, 2021.
The CPS London Homicide Unit authorized the charge following a review of an evidence file received from the Metropolitan Police Service.
The defendant’s first court appearance will take place on September 28, 2021.
