Austin Amos and Nickolas Porter, both 20, turned themselves in to police at the 101st Precinct in Queens Wednesday night for allegedly skipping a cab fare and fatally beating Gyimah after he chased them for the money early Thursday morning. Saturday.

“My husband was a good man. He was all we had…he was the only one I looked up to and now his life has just been cut short like this,” Gyimah’s wife, Abigail Barwuah, said at a news conference at her home on Thursday.

Barwuah added that she was “happy” that two of the five suspects accused of beating her husband to death had been arrested, and she had a message for the three who were still on the loose.
“I’m telling them to turn themselves in because they’re going to catch them,” he said. “Wherever they are, even if they are not caught by man, God will bring them.”
The mother of four was joined by her and Gyimah’s young children and taxi union chief Fernando Mateo, who has been closely following the case.
“It is very difficult to understand why five young people attacked an older adult to take his money and not pay his ticket and kill him,” Mateo told reporters. “We all saw the brutal video of the brutal attack on Kutin, and it’s something that left an impression on all of us.”

He was taken to St. John’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Mateo said Thursday that Gyimah’s family feels sorry for the five suspects.
“They are five children under the age of 20 and they will pay the rest of their lives for having participated in the murder of Kutin Gyimah,” said the union representative. “Their lives and those of their families have also changed. So this family is so noble that instead of hating, they also pray for these children.”
