A Tennessee mother and her 17-year-old daughter were found dead Saturday with her ex-husband Michael Robinson, who appears to have committed suicide after killing them.

According to police in Bristol, Tennessee, Michael, 47, has been investigated for child abuse, the Bristol Herald Courier said.

Bristol police found the bodies of 36-year-old Kristina Robinson, her daughter, and Michael Robinson while examining a shooting report just before 7 a.m.

Michael Attempted Suicide

“Michael appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” police said in a statement, according to the Herald Courier. “A rifle was found with his body and it appears to be the weapon used in that incident.”

Investigations

According to a statement, a grand jury recently issued an arrest warrant for Michael “charging him with various charges related to the child abuse investigation.” The order had been shipped to where he lived in Russell County, Virginia, and was due Thursday.

It was unclear if the child abuse allegations were related to the 17-year-old.

The bodies will be autopsied at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City.
