Perrett’s lawyers said the former minister had announced that he would contest the allegations.

Perrett, 79, was Minister of Primary Industries, Fisheries and Forestry in the Borbidge government from 1996 to 1998.
He represented the former South Burnett Barambah electorate for the National Party between 1988 and 1998.
He lives in Petrie, in Moreton Bay, north of Brisbane, the court heard.
His son Tony Perrett is an opposition member of parliament and represents Gympie’s electorate for the National Liberal Party.
Perrett’s appearance was justified before he was ordered to reappear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on May 4.
