Spencer Smith sophomore at Brunswick High School
Spencer Smith, who was a sophomore at Brunswick High School, found his schedule difficult mostly online because he stayed away from his friends, WMTV reported.
“Social distancing doesn’t work for kids. I mean, kids have problems, ”his father Jay Smith told the news channel.
Even during the school day, he found it difficult to really communicate with his colleagues and asked to stay home.
“He was a fun-loving kid, but we didn’t see the pain that he apparently was in,” said his father.
His father said the teenager spent the summer becoming a lineman for the soccer team.
But he was dejected to learn that flag football would be replaced by the sport.
“As soon as he found out that it was not going to be a regular football season, we looked back to see that he had stopped coaching,” said his father.
“He stopped riding his bike so much that he didn’t train. Instead of exercising, he took a nap.
His father said the family “saw no signs of feeling worse” before he committed suicide on December 4.
“I wanted more from life. I wanted everything to come out of life, ”Smith said.
