Arrested and Charged
Early Sunday morning, an arrest warrant was issued for Keuntae McElroy, 21, of Texarkana, Ark., In connection with the overnight mass shootings that left one dead and nine others injured at a party of Halloween inside the Octavia Events Center in Texarkana, Texas. .
He was booked into Bi-State Jail on one count of aggravated assault, and additional charges will be filed against him on Monday.
Police say no mugshot of the suspect will be released until Monday and no information on why has been released.
Suspect
Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Keuntae McElroy and said he was charged with a felony aggravated battery, and there will likely be more charges soon.
At least several hundred people are believed to be at the Octavia Event Center near the Texas-Arkansas border when the shooting occurred, police said.
One suspect was described as a “medium-sized Hispanic male with facial hair” dressed in dark pants, a red hoodie and “a black flat-peak hat.” The second suspect was described as “an average-sized light-skinned black or Hispanic male wearing a yellow hoodie and balaclava.”
Victims
Police said the victims were taken to two hospitals and a 20-year-old man later died. Police noted that the injuries of the other nine “do not currently appear [to be] life-threatening.”
“While the motive is still unknown, the preliminary investigation indicates that it may [have] been the result of some kind of disturbance among some [of] the partygoers,” police said on Facebook.

Shooting
Another shooting at a Halloween party in Illinois left at least 12 people injured and two dead. The Will County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday that a patrol sergeant heard between 10 and 12 shots and saw at least 100 people fleeing the scene of the shooting.
Police said the shooting occurred in the backyard of a residence in Joliet, Illinois, near a DJ booth. At least a dozen people were injured and taken to hospitals, while two victims died from the incident. About 200 people are believed to have attended the Halloween party.
