A New York man faces hate crime charges after police made threats and comments against Asian Americans to an undercover officer assigned to a hate crime task force.
Juvian Rodriguez, 35, was arrested near Penn Station Friday afternoon after the alleged confrontation.

The arrest comes amid a nationwide wave of hate crime reports against Asian Americans. The NYPD recently announced that it is increasing the number of patrols and adding undercover officers in areas with high Asian-American populations.
