The Old Bailey heard how police arrived at Mrs. Grant’s address after 10 p.m. m. on March 25 last year, after Miller called police saying he had killed her grandmother the night before.
She told the paramedic the night of her arrest, “I raped her for what it’s worth, too, yesterday and today.”
Miller later confirmed that she had s*s*x with the dead body of her grandmother after she died.
He also told police that he was dependent on cocaine but had no mental health issues.
Miller, also from Kent Street, Plaistow, appeared in court via video link from the John Howard Center’s secure psychiatric unit.
He denied murder but admitted to manslaughter and s*xual penetration of a corpse.
The Crown Prosecution Service accepted the statement in light of the findings of three psychiatrists. Miller is now due to be sentenced next month.
prosecutor Caroline Carberry QC said:
Speaking about the guilty plea, Prosecutor Caroline Carberry QC said: “The acceptability of a guilty plea has been carefully considered before today and, in light of the findings of three forensic psychiatric consultants, the Crown’s position is that this is a suitable approach to take in this case.
Judge Anthony Leonard QC said: “So on the basis of diminished liability, as we used to call it.”
Postponing sentencing until March 28 while more psychiatric reports are prepared, the judge told Miller, “The fact that you pleaded guilty today will be taken into account by the sentencing judge.”
