In a 13-year-old player’s vocation, he appeared in the Soccer League. He also played in the Premier League for Southampton and the Football Conference for Shrewsbury Town. Globally, he was covered once by England at under-21 level.

Potter began his managerial career in December 2010 with Swedish club Östersund. He won three advances and the Svenska Cupen with Östersund, leading them to the knockout stage of the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League.

He was appointed manager of Championship club Swansea City in June 2018 and continued at Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion a year after the fact.

Born in Solihull, West Midlands, Potter began his career as a student in the city of Birmingham.

After a spell at Wycombe Wanderers, he continued at Stoke City and, by this time, Southampton, where he played in a 6-3 win over Manchester United in 1996.

While playing for Southampton, he came on as a substitute for the England Under-21s in a European Championship qualifier against Moldova.

He joined West Bromwich Albion in 1997, and after three and a half years, which included credits at Northampton Town and Reading, he finished the paperwork for York City.

Potter moved from York City to Boston United in mid-2003. He joined Shrewsbury Town on loan in November 2003. In 2004, he continued on a free trade to Macclesfield Town, where he completed his senior playing career.

Detective Inspector Kevin Goan said

Detective Inspector Kevin Goan said Potter initially told officers they had the wrong man.

‘He denied his identity. The resident of the property where he was found seemed to know him from other details, so they arrested him,’ said Inspector Goan.

He was known as Ned. No other details were provided.’

At the time of his arrest in 2010, Potter was connected to organized crime figures in Victoria and New South Wales and had allegedly been recruited to carry out gang killings.

He was one of three charged in the alleged planned murders of two men related to disputes within a drug syndicate over a botched importation.

He is a person with previous convictions in New South Wales for manslaughter. He was out on bail on two counts of conspiracy to murder,” he said.

“That investigation was taken to its logical conclusion at the time and we are confident in the strength of the evidence.”

For a decade, sightings of the 64-year-old man have been reported in various Australian states, including rural New South Wales.

Police have carried out a significant number of searches and public appeals over the last 12 years in an effort to find him, publishing the photos of the abandoned camp in 2019 as part of a renewed demand for information.

Cctv Footage

In August 2010, he was seen on CCTV at the trailer park in Tully, just south of Cairns.

His car was stopped by police in the same city five days later, but Potter allegedly managed to escape by running.

The following year, police stepped up their search efforts by offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

A large-scale search was launched in 2013 after there were unconfirmed sightings of Potter at Tocumwal in the Riverina region of New South Wales and Cobram on the Victorian side of the Murray River.

Three years later, more unconfirmed sightings of Potter were made at Griffith in the Riverina district in July 2016, one at a store and one at a gym.

Potter has been described as a master of disguise, frequently dying his hair and wearing layers of clothing to make himself heavier as he flees.

Also known for having called himself Josh Lawson and Peter Anderson, the bespectacled Potter is known to wear a gold sleeper on both ears and a gold chain around his neck.

The convicted murderer, who has an extensive criminal history, was dubbed Australia’s ‘number one fugitive’ by Victoria Police Acting Assistant Commissioner of Crime Paul De Santo in 2017.

Historical police records show that Potter queued for a mugshot as early as 1976, when he was just 18 years old.

Five years later, he was jailed for life for the murder of 19-year-old teenager Kim Barry in Wollongong, after he beat her and lopped off her head.
