Tristyn, 13, died after a 14-year-old suspect, Aiden Fucci, allegedly stabbed her to death, who posted a selfie from a police car after she disappeared. Tristyn was last seen on surveillance video in a residential neighborhood in St. John’s on May 9 at 1:15 a.m. Police said a man who looked like the suspect in the case went for a walk with Tristyn.

Tristyn disappeared the morning of May 9. Her family reported that she disappeared around 10 a.m. of that day. Her remains were found hours later and, finally, 14-year-old Fucci was arrested in connection with her death. The schoolgirl died of “violent stabbing trauma” and her death has been classified as murder, according to the medical examiner announced by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office on May 11. Fucci was charged with second degree murder. He was presented virtually to Judge Richard Orfinger on May 11 at an internment camp in Volusia County, where the conditions of his detention were read.
