Who is Yasmine Beasley?
Yasmine Beasley is a black woman from Los Angeles who allegedly assaulted an elderly Mexican-American woman last Friday while she was on her way to shop in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles. The attack was proven because she was mistaken for an Asian.
Not much is known about her, other than the fact that she is a black woman. As reported by the Daily Mail, Beasley allegedly attacked the 70-year-old woman as she tried to get off the bus after calling her an anti-Chinese insult. Beasley mistook the victim for an Asian.

According to the victim’s son Pete, Becky, who is identified as the victim, tried to get off the 81 bus at La Loma Road and Figueroa Street on Friday afternoon. She went to the Vons supermarket to buy for her granddaughter. The attack was prompted by a racial slur that came from Beasley.
She then she dragged the victim to the front of the bus while there were no passengers, not even the driver entwined. The assault ended after a passenger made a 911 call. Among the injuries, Becky suffered a broken nose, swollen eyes, multiple bruises and patches of hair pulled out.
She was detained in the hospital for 24 hours before being discharged.
Her son maintains that she still has difficulty walking after the horrible attack. She also mentioned that her family is often mistaken for Asians, despite being Mexican-American. As the Daily Mail reported, there has been a steady increase in the number of hate crimes against Asians after the Covid-19 shutdown.

The attack was captured by a security camera in a nearby building, however, no one interlaced during the time of the attack.

A police spokesman told the Los Angeles Times that the 23-year-old was arrested on suspicion of felony assault charges in the attack. The victim has suffered multiple injuries to his face and even suffered a concussion due to the severity.
The Asian American Hate of the Pacific Islands (AAPI) has recorded approximately 3,975 racially motivated attacks against Asian Americans in the past year. In March alone, a 65-year-old Asian woman was assaulted in New York City, where Brandon Elliot attacked her in broad daylight and repeatedly kicked her in the head.
