Both the mother and son were discovered Saturday when police entered his apartment in the Tate building at 535 West 23rd St in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.

Investigators who found Agnes on her couch and William on a bed believe she died at least a week before her son because he was beginning to decompose.
