Who is John Madden’s wife?
Legendary soccer coach and broadcaster John Madden has died at age 85. The NFL confirmed the night of Tuesday, December 28. The league said Madden died unexpectedly in the morning.
“On behalf of the entire NFL family, we extend our condolences to Virginia, Mike, Joe and their families,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “We all know him as the Oakland Raiders Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster who worked for all the major networks, but more than anything, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.”
“Nobody loved football more than the coach. He was football. He was an incredible sounding board for me and many others. There will never be another John Madden, and we will always be indebted to him for everything he did to make football and the NFL what it is today, “Goodell added.
John Madden was born in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Earl Madden and Mary Madden in 1936. John Madden won Super Bowl XI as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders. And, after his retirement, he became famous for commenting on him for NFL television broadcasts with Pat Summerall. He was inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
Madden worked as a color analyst for the four major networks: CBS (1979–1993), Fox (1994–2001), ABC (2002–2005), and NBC (2006–2008). He hung up his boots from the broadcast after the 2008 NFL season.
Madden is survived by his wife Virginia and his two children, Joseph and Michael.

John Madden married Virginia Fields on December 26, 1959, in a marriage ceremony that took place inside the Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption in Saint Mary. The two had reportedly met at a bar in Pismo Beach, California. Madden and Fields share two sons: Joseph and Michael.
Fields has been known as the central figure in the Madden household, as she takes care of the essentials of family members. Over the years, she has taken care of various antiques the family owns, most notably a YIELD sign on the road, which Ted Hendricks, the three-time All-America linebacker, gifted to Madden when he retired.
Fields and Madden resided in Pleasanton, California, with their two sons, Joseph and Michael. Michael, also known as Mike, is pursuing a soccer career and is a wide receiver for the Harvard Crimson. Joseph, or Joe, attended Brown University. Fields is known as a very reserved person.
