“Three individuals armed with knives and a handgun with their faces covered entered the hotel and confronted a female worker working behind the bar,” said Acting Superintendent for Detective Grant Taylor.
The next day, a second robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven on New Canterbury Rd in Hurlstone Park around 2.40 a.m.
Marr was denied bail and will face Port Macquarie Bail Court on Saturday
No employee was injured during Marr’s alleged series of robberies in Sydney.
Acting Detective Superintendent Grant Taylor said the robberies would have been horrible to staff.
“Certainly any robbery in the middle of the night where you are confronted by men with guns and you are not sure if they will shoot you is something that I would find very conflicting,” said Acting Superintendent Taylor.
Marr was charged with three counts of robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, three counts of acquiring a handgun subject to a firearms prohibition order, taking / detaining a person in company with the intent to gain an advantage, and dealing with the proceeds of property from a crime.
Police are still searching for the other two men accused of being related to the series of robberies.
Marr was denied bail and will face Port Macquarie Bail Court on Saturday.
