Tony Lewis, singer and bassist for the English rock band The Outfield, has died at the age of 62. He died “suddenly and unexpectedly” near London on Monday, according to a statement from publicist Bari Lieberman.

The Outfield was founded in 1984 and has been active for approximately three decades. His hits include “Your Love”, “All the Love” and “Say It Isn’t So”. “Your Love” reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986.

Lewis then went solo and released the album “Out of the Darkness” in 2018. An EP, “Unplugged – The Acoustic Sessions”, was released in May.

“Tony’s music has touched people around the world for decades,” the statement said. His “legacy will live on forever through his beautiful family and his legendary music.”

Lewis is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol, their daughters Gemma and Rosie, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded by the death of his teammate John Spinks, who died of liver cancer in 2014 at the age of 60.
