Suspect who killed the mother of three and her 2-year-old son.
Timothy Brown, a Missouri resident, has been identified as a suspect in the double Christmas murder of a woman and her child. Brown was released Tuesday, according to St. Louis County Police.
“Brown was charged with a double homicide in the North County District over Christmas,” police said Monday.

KTVI-TV agents were called to the 1500 Lakeside Lane block at around 7:00 p.m. December 25 for a wellness check-up at a home in Spanish Lake. Police found the bodies of Charese Garvin, 28, and Alayah Butler, 2, Garvin’s daughter. Police and prosecutors believe the two men were shot and killed by Timothy Brown, Garvin’s ex-boyfriend.
On Monday, the St. Louis County District Attorney’s Office charged Brown with two counts of first degree murder and two counts of armed crime.
According to reports from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, witnesses saw Brown and his car at the scene of the murders and told police that he threatened his mother, saying that if he couldn’t have it, “no one could.” say the indictment documents. Garvin was the mother of three children: Alayah, 2, and two other boys, ages 4 and 6.
And she was pregnant with her fourth child at the time of her death, her sister-in-law told the Post-Dispatch. Garvin’s two oldest children were fathered by Brown and she had called the police in the past due to domestic violence.
