Who is Terresha Lucas ?

Terresha Lucas has been charged with eight counts of terrorist threats, according to the Douglasville, Georgia Police Department.

Police in a suburb of Atlanta arrested a 30-year-old black woman who allegedly sent letters to several African-American families claiming to be a white member of the Ku Klu Klan who was going to burn down their houses and kill their children.

There was no contact information available for Lucas. It is unclear if she has hired an attorney.wikipedia

Investigators allege that Lucas wrote letters describing herself as “a six-foot-tall white man with a long red beard who did not live in the neighborhood.”

In March, residents of the Brookmont subdivision of Manning Drive in Douglasville, about 23 miles west of Atlanta, began receiving racist and threatening letters in the mail.

“I received one two days ago and I was alarmed by what I read,” a resident told CBS46 News.

“The letter uses the N word, talks about the KKK, hangs people, kills children, kills entire families and sets houses on fire.”

Arrested and Charged

At least seven families reported receiving threatening letters.

The first letters were sent to two households in December last year, according to the researchers.

Douglas Police Detective Nathan Shumaker said the letters were left in mailboxes overnight and found the next day.

Similar threatening letters were reported on February 17, February 22, March 1, and March 3, which according to police had the same tone and verbiage.

Six months passed without a letter until another note was reportedly received on September 6.

Police spent months investigating the matter, going door to door and checking doorbell cameras.

Investigators also handed out leaflets to residents asking for information.

The break in the case occurred last month on Labor Day. Police said they obtained evidence linking the letters to Lucas’s home, though the department did not specify.

Records released by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office indicate that Lucas was booked into jail.

She faces eight felony counts of threats and terrorist acts. Each count carries a maximum prison sentence of five years and a fine of $ 5,000.
