Tamika Haynes Age
Tamika Haynes was 27 years old.
On the night of January 26, 1996, Higgs, Willis Haynes, and Victor Gloria drove from Higgs’s apartment in Laurel, Maryland, to Washington, DC, to pick up Tamika Black, Tanji Jackson, and Mishann Chinn. Dates had been arranged for each of the men and women and the groups had agreed to meet and hang out together. The six rode in Higgs’ vehicle, a blue Mazda MPV pickup, and returned to his apartment to drink alcohol, smoke marijuana and listen to music. The party continued until the early hours of January 27.
At some point in the night, an argument broke out and the women left the apartment. Higgs, Haynes, and Gloria headed after them, with Higgs driving his own vehicle and Haynes sitting in the front passenger seat. Gloria was sitting in the back of the truck behind Higgs. Higgs drove his truck to the side of the road where the women were walking. They offered the women a ride home, which they willingly accepted. The women climbed into the back of the vehicle and Higgs got out of Laurel. Neighbors in the area reported seeing and seeing the three women laugh and talk in the early hours of that morning .
Higgs drove his truck down a state highway to the Patuxent Research Refuge and stopped the vehicle near the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. The women got out of the truck and Haynes got out of the vehicle. Haynes then fatally shot each of the three women with a silver .38 caliber pistol before returning to the truck and closing the door. Then the gun was thrown into the Anacostia River. Early on January 27, a passing motorist found the women’s bodies and contacted Park Police. Jackson’s address book was found at the scene with Higgs’s nickname and phone number on file. According to the medical examiner, Jackson and Black had been shot once in the chest and once in the back. Chinn had been shot once in the back of the neck.
Tamika Haynes Cause of death
According to her relatives, Haynes was sitting in a car and was an innocent bystander.
“She has a lot of family, she is loved and we don’t understand the details,” Stevlyn Sandridge told KTLA. We don’t know anything about why she was killed and why she shot a crowd of innocent people. Haynes’s family revealed that the victim’s 13-year-old sister was senselessly murdered just a week after she suddenly fainted and died.
Dispatchers in Hemet began phone calls about a group of women fighting at 5:18 p.m. Tuesday, followed by reports of armed conflict. The number of people who attended was estimated to be six to eight. Officers found three adults wounded by bullets at the scene, and a Hemet hospital reported that two more bullet victims had been there.
Video at the scene shows paramedics pulling an injured woman out of a BMW and placing her on a stretcher. It is not clear if that woman is Haynes or not. A male victim was found at the scene with a serious gunshot wound to the leg and her back was taken to the same trauma center as Haynes. The third victim, who arrived at the scene, was taken to Hemet Hospital to have an arm wound treated.
There were no further details on the other two victims, but they were expected to survive. Police described the incident as multiple shots that “basically occurred simultaneously”, but it is unknown how many weapons were used. Witnesses reported hearing a dozen shots.
According to police, no arrests were made on Thursday and the motive is unknown. Investigators said there was no immediate evidence that the conflict was related to the gang. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to help Haynes’s family with funeral expenses. The description of collecting donations described her mother as “loving, encouraging, forgiving.”
Carl Smith, the organizer of the campaign, wrote: “If you knew Millie, you knew love. She was alive, nonjudgmental and accepted everyone as family. She raised everyone around her with generosity and a pure heart.” The shooting Mass in Hemet is the latest wave of gun violence to sweep across America.
