Detained – Charge

Two Massachusetts residents, including a member of the Natick Town Meeting, were arrested by the FBI on Tuesday in connection with the insurrection at the United States Capitol on January 6.

Anni and Sahady are charged with entering or staying in any restricted building or land without legal authorization and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds.

Each was identified by the FBI through social media, specifically through the organization “Super Happy Fun America,” according to court documents. The group posted photos on Twitter of Ianni and Sahady on a bus with a caption: “Bus 1 of 11 is coming to Washington DC. See you there!

The group tweeted that it had organized 11 buses to take people from the Bay State to the nation’s Capitol. Other photos shared online appear to show Ianni inside the United States Capitol on January 6 when riots broke out.

Ianni was arrested at her home and she is expected to appear in United States District Court in Boston. She is charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any building or restricted land without legal authority and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds.

Officials also allege that Ianni organized Super Happy Fun America buses to transport people to Washington, D.C., for the protest.

She appeared virtually before a federal judge in Boston not long ago and was released on her own admission with conditions, including staying away from the Massachusetts State House, and not participating in any protests.

Investigation report

According to court documents, Ianni organized the buses to the country’s capital for the group. Sahady, court documents say, is the group’s vice president.

Through new local reports, the FBI said more than 300 people from the group used the buses to travel to Washington D.C.

The group, which has the motto “It’s great to be straight” according to the FBI, also organized the Boston Pure Pride Parade in the summer of 2019.

The FBI cited photos from Jan.6 showing Ianni and Sahady together outside and inside the United States Capitol, confirming that the two were together.

The FBI worked in coordination with the Malden and Natick police departments to arrest both Ianni and Sahady, authorities said.
