There are two reasons why you cannot get a walk-in with Shane. In fact, three: the third is that you work from a private home, so unless you are a client, you will not find it. The other two reasons are that you can’t just show up at the clinic, you have to book in advance, and even then it will be difficult to find an appointment as Shane is booked for weeks. However, as anyone who knows Shane will tell you, his passion for his work means that he will literally go out of his way to fit in with you.
This is how I find myself laying on his luxurious treatment bed at 8am on a Monday morning, doing an interview with him at the same time as I review his facial on the red carpet. It’s an early start, but the fact that I haven’t had to do my usual skincare routine or apply makeup means that I look fresh out of bed and come in with heavy eyes and blemishes: the perfect canvas for Shane.
Suzanne revealed intimidated by electronic facial treatments
After preparing my face for the treatment, Shane assures me that in 90 minutes all my skin discomfort would be gone. Chronic pigmentation, acne scars, and dry patches increased during confinement, and fine lines, bags under my eyes, and exhaustion etched into my face from weeks of sleepless nights, she tells me, will soon be a thing of the past. And … (it’s true that after hours of stalking his Instagram videos of treatments with everyone from Rochelle Hulme to Anthony Joshua), I believe him.
Electronic facials have often intimidated me; the noise and feel of machines have never appealed to me, so I’ve always taken the practical approach. However, Shane’s calm and caring demeanor, which dates back to his early career as a mental health therapist, is very comforting.
Using a variety of different techniques, my skin is filled, massaged, and pounded with different techniques, including a pair of what looks like metal tweezers that provide magnetic pulse therapy to tighten and rejuvenate my facial muscles.
face-to-face with a gun and a scalpel knife during a beauty treatment
Coming face to face with a gun and a scalpel during a beauty treatment is not exactly my idea of paradise, in fact it is something that happens in nightmares.
However, with celebrities, actors, and pop stars swearing by Shane Cooper’s custom facials, I imagine it can’t be too painful.
After all, beauty comes at a price and if it’s meant to make you look younger after just one treatment then I’m up for it, as long as the only thing it removes is the dead cells from my skin.
However, this is not a chamber of horrors; In fact, it’s the opposite; An impressive building with lots of light in the heart of Kensington with art to die for (not literally!) and furniture that would not look out of place in a luxury hotel. Everything in the treatment room offers a sense of calm and serenity, providing the ultimate space for the skin guru of the stars to work his magic.
