Who is Stacey Henderson?

A mother, Stacey Henderson, who broke a policeman’s head butt while drunk, was saved from jail.

Stacey Henderson Age

Stacey Henderson, 23, of East Rainton, Sunderland, “drank for three days” before carrying out the “heinous” attack that permanently disfigured the officer’s nose.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that police had come to Henderson’s home in the early hours of August 24 last year to arrest her ex-boyfriend.

Prosecutor Rachael Glover told the court that Henderson had gotten into a fight and when officers tried to arrest her, she hit a police officer who was in the firearms support unit.

Miss Glover told the court: “She turned to the computer and gave it a head butt. Her SC tried to move her head but she was not fast enough, the defendants’ actions were faster and she hit his nose so hard that it immediately caused him pain and she took a step back.

The court heard that Henderson continued to fight when brought to the ground and complained that she “did nothing wrong.”

Arrested

When she was arrested, Van Henderson became a “dead weight” and fell to the ground, leaving her with injuries to her own face that required hospital treatment.

The court heard that the officer’s nose, which was instantly swollen and bruised, was deflected by the blow.

She said in a victim statement: “When she head-butted me, she looked directly at me.”

The PC, who spent 13 years in the police force, added: “I can honestly say that I have never suffered such pain or injury.

“I went to Freeman Hospital and was examined by a specialist who confirmed that my nose was broken and that my nose was wrong.

“The risk of trying to manipulate it is that it could move and cause additional disfigurement.”

The officer added: “Just because he is a police officer does not mean that he is immune.

“I was upset and angry because I was the victim of an attack and the injury is permanent.”

Henderson of East Rainton, Sunderland, admitted the assault.

Registrar David Brooke QC sentenced her to nine months in prison with 18 months of probation, rehabilitation and 100 hours of unpaid work.

The judge told him: “The policemen do their job the best they can, they do not deserve to be treated like this, nor to any emergency personnel.”

The court heard that Henderson had never been in trouble and provided character references that “speak highly of her.”

The judge said she accepted that it was a “unique” incident and added: “You say yourself how horrible the way she behaved was. It seems that drinking had a lot to do with it.

“That was unusual for you.”

Alec Burns, who defended himself, said Henderson has “changed her life” since the crime and now she is no longer drinking.

Mr. Burns added: “She said what she did was horrible and a grave mistake. She admits that the police are working and she should not be treated that way. ”

Ms. Glover told the court: “He turned to the PC and butted him. The PC tried to move its head but it was not fast enough, the defendant’s actions were faster and it connected with its nose so hard that it hit him. it caused immediate pain and resulted in me recoiling. ”

The court heard that Henderson was still struggling when brought to the ground and complaining that she “had done nothing wrong.”

When she was taken into custody, Van Henderson became a ‘dead weight’ and fell to the ground, leaving her with injuries to her own face that required hospital treatment.

The court heard that the officer’s nose, which was instantly swollen and bruised, deviated as a result of the blow.

She said in a victim statement: “When she head-butted me, she looked directly at me.”

The PC, who has been in the force for 13 years, added: “I can honestly say that I have never suffered pain or injury like this.

“I attended Freeman Hospital and was examined by a specialist who confirmed that my nose was broken and confirmed that my nose was out of place.

“The risk of trying to manipulate it is that it could move and create additional disfigurement.”

The officer added: “Just because he is a police officer does not mean that he is immune.

“He was upset and angry that he had been the victim of an assault and the injury is permanent.”

Henderson, of East Rainton, Sunderland, admitted the assault.

Registrar David Brooke QC sentenced her to nine months in prison, suspended for 18 months, with rehabilitation requirements and 100 hours of unpaid work.
