New Jersey Man Sree Aravapalli Killed After Being Followed Home From Parx Casino, Suspect Charged With Murder, Police Say
Officers say he was robbed and shot multiple times at his home.
“She’s crazy,” said Sheeza Khan, a resident of Aravapalli. “I mean, amazing. How can someone follow him all the way and come here and kill him at night? He is so shocking. ”

Police responded to a shooting report at 3:38 a.m. and found that Aravapalli had “suffered multiple gunshot wounds.” He was pronounced dead after being transferred to a local hospital.
“He’s crazy,” Aravapalli’s neighbor Sheeza Khan told KYW-TV. “I mean, amazing. How can someone follow him all the way and come here and kill him at night? It’s so shocking. ”
Arrested and Charged
Police have arrested 27-year-old Jekai Reid-John of Norristown.
Reid-Johns has been charged with first-degree murder.
Detectives said surveillance footage from a farm shows the suspect’s car behind Aravapalli’s vehicle early Tuesday morning. According to the footage, reported by WNBC, only one of the cars can be seen making the return trip to Pennsylvania.
Authorities said Reid-John broke into the residence through a sliding door at the rear of the home, which has since been bricked up, and then shot Aravapalli several times shortly after 3 a.m., while his wife and daughter slept upstairs.
Reid-John was taken into police custody in Pennsylvania prior to an extradition hearing to be returned to New Jersey pending a pretrial detention hearing, prosecutors said.
“We are deeply saddened by the report that earlier this week a Parx Casino customer was the victim of a homicide at his home after returning from a visit to the casino,” Parx CEO Eric Hausler wrote in a statement, confirming that Aravapalli had been a customer at the casino the night he was killed. “Our condolences to the family and friends of the victim at this incredibly difficult time.”
