Shirley Williams Biography
Shirley Williams is the mother of Wendy Williams, an American television host, businesswoman, media personality, and author. She was a Learning Disabilities Resource Specialist at Bradley School in Asbury Park, New Jersey during her teaching career.
She was honored with the 1988 “Now Black Woman” award by The Drifters Inc. The award is presented annually by Drifters, a national organization of black women dedicated to promoting educational opportunities and participating in civic endeavors. By winning the national award, she was chosen from 28 other women who were nominated by Drifters Inc. chapters across the country. Nominees were chosen for their participation and skills in local chapters, national organizations, religious activities, hobbies, hobbies and interests, and their personal and professional lives. Ms. Williams was one of the nine founding members of the Ocean chapter of Drifters Inc., which was formed in 1974, according to Asbury Park Press.

Wendy Williams’ mother, Shirley Williams, has passed away, according to journalist Courtney Brown. Brown broke the news on social media saying her grandmother and Williams were best friends for 83 years. She revealed the news in the following post: “One of my grandmother’s best friends passed away for 83 years … Ms. Shirley Williams ❤️ Always available to my grandmother and our family, she flew in to share this beautiful speech on her 100th birthday of the grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Williams is really what kids now call #CoupleGoals. May she rest in peace and prayers for @wendyshow and the whole family. Fun fact: she didn’t like being called ‘Wendy’s mom,’ that’s what she was telling them not to say in the video. ”
