Shaun Runyon Wiki
Shaun Runyon Biography
Who is Shaun Runyon ?
A Pennsylvania electrician who had an argument with his supervisor at a Florida workplace reportedly returned to their shared accommodation 24 hours later and attacked his colleagues with a baseball bat and knife, killing three.
Shaun Runyon, 39, had an argument with his supervisor at 2 a.m. Friday and struck him before fleeing the Publix Corporation workplace in Lakeland, Florida, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
His supervisor told police that he believed Runyon was headed back to his Pennsylvania home as they had not seen him since the fight Friday morning.
But Runyon allegedly returned to the temporary home he shared with seven J & B Electric co-workers and his families at the unincorporated Windsor Island Resort in Davenport.
Police say Runyon began violently attacking his colleagues with a knife and a baseball bat around 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning.
The sheriff confirmed that the supervisor also lived in the rented home, but did not confirm the status of his condition.
Runyon allegedly beat a man to death while he slept, and a second person was found dead on the front porch.
How old is Shaun Runyon ?
He is 39 year old.
A third victim was brutally beaten and taken to hospital in “extremely critical condition”.
He died Saturday night, police said.
A fourth victim was chased down the street from the gated community where Runyon struck him on the back and shoulder with the baseball bat.
Another man escaped unharmed with his wife and his 7-year-old daughter, according to Judd.
Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims.
Runyon then fled the scene at the Windsor Island Resort, leading to an intensive manhunt that included K9 units, helicopters and the drone team that followed his bloody trail until it dried up, police reported.
About two hours later, Runyon appeared on the doorstep of a Lake Wales couple, wearing their bloody clothing, and claimed that he had been raped, the sheriff said.
Authorities said the couple insisted that he check into a Lake Wales hospital where he was detained by police, the sheriff said.
Judd claimed that Runyon has confessed to his violent crimes.
No charges have yet been brought against Runyon, who was unharmed during the spree.
‘He knew all these victims. We have no idea what made him so outraged that, more than 24 hours later, he would come back and try to kill every one of them, ” Judd said.
Runyon reportedly has a criminal record including charges of out-of-state strangulation, endangering a child’s well-being, terrorist threats, DUI, and more.
Judd insisted in his press conference that the area is safe now that Runyon is in custody, but some Windsor Island Resort residents are scared.
Shaun Runyon has been taken into custody and allegedly confessed attacking his colleagues at a shared home in Florida.
Judd explained that Runyon was working with J & B Electric, Inc and living in a house in Davenport with his colleagues and their families while working on a temporary project.
He allegedly got into a fight with his supervisor on Friday and was not seen again until he returned to the house, where the supervisor also lived, with a knife and a baseball bat.
He explained that he and his family had just moved into the new community six months ago, ‘We moved here because it was sold to us as a community property for families.’
“It was a family property and now we face a lot of police activity that makes us feel like we are not so sure that we have all of our children here.”
Davenport is about a 2 hour drive from North Port, where Brian Laundrie, the person of interest in Gabby Petito’s death, lives, and Fort De Soto, where a search for Laundrie is underway.
On Thursday, Judd commented on the search for Laundrie, which is outside of his jurisdiction. “I can tell you, at the sheriff’s office, when he showed up with her car and she was not a place to find it, we would never have left him out of our custody that day,” Judd said.
