The shots broke out around 1 a.m. at West 128th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard after two men became involved in a dispute, police said.
Shanice Young, 31, was struck once in the head off 300 West 128th Street, according to police. The shooter was wearing a camouflage mask, law enforcement sources said.
Young was rushed to Harlem Hospital, but she was unable to save herself.
Police said it was not immediately clear if she was involved in the dispute or if she was an innocent bystander.
