Who is Shabbazz Suleman?
Shabbazz Suleman, 25, allegedly crossed into the war-torn country to join the militant terror group during a family vacation in Turkey in 2014.
Returning to the UK on September 29, he was arrested at Heathrow Airport and charged under the Terrorism Act.
Suleman, of High Wycombe, Bucks, faces charges of preparing for acts of terrorism, being a member of a proscribed organization and receiving weapons training.
Judge Mark Lucraft said:
Today he appeared in court to deny having traveled to Syria to join the terrorists.
Judge Mark Lucraft said: “Trial is set for September 12 in this court before me.
“I have given several instructions in this hearing, which has been a preparatory hearing and the accused has been prosecuted.”
Suleman has been remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing at the Old Bailey on May 27.
