Who is Sam Johnson?
Sam Johnson is known as the CEO of VisuWell, a “modern, consumer-friendly platform for virtual care delivery.” Prior to launching VisuWell in August 2017, Johnson served as CEO of WeCounsel and as founder and CEO of Relatient for five years, which was a messaging platform.
A shocking video from April 2021 appeared online showing Johnson stalking a teenager at his prom. The video, which was filmed in a hotel lobby before prom at Franklin High School in Tennessee, shows Johnson verbally harassing a teenager who attended the prom in a red dress.
The boyfriend, Jacob Geittmann, originally posted the video on TikTok and later on Twitter. He said his boyfriend, Dalton Stevens, wore the dress “to his senior graduation to break the stigma surrounding men who wear dresses. It looked beautiful, everyone loved it and nobody had a problem with it. “Geitmann added:” We went to this hotel near where we live and got a lot of good photos and we were there for about an hour and just as we were about to leave we we meet outside in this little central area with a lot of buildings surrounding us … ”

Johnson has been the CEO of ValuWell since 2017, according to his now-deleted LinkedIn profile. He is also on the board of directors. According to a VisuWell press release, the company, formerly known as WeCounsel, is on a mission to “provide elegant platforms that enable healthcare organizations of all kinds to provide continuity of care and better access to healthcare services by equipping to physicians and their patients with a convenient and effective platform ”.
On LinkedIn, Johnson wrote of himself: “I am a brand builder, a growth catalyst, and a source of encouragement and problem solving for startups and early stage companies struggling to differentiate themselves in a crowded market. If you are interested in branding the difference in health care and in people’s lives, let’s stay in touch. ”
Johnson was previously the founder and CEO of the “Patient Outreach and Messaging Platform” from 2012 to 2017.
Johnson was quoted in an April 6, 2021 press release about the University Hospitals system in Cleveland, Ohio, and chose VisuWell as his telehealth provider. Johnson and his company said the pandemic has increased the need for hospitals to have telehealth systems.

The video was taken on Saturday, April 24 by the victim’s boyfriend, Jacob Geittmann, and soon went viral on TikTok and Twitter. Geittmann said his boyfriend Dalton wore the dress to prom to make a statement against the taboo of men wearing dresses.
“It looked beautiful, everyone loved it and no one had a problem with it,” Geittmann shared before recounting how Sam harassed him on the spot.
After harassing the teenager on April 24, the students’ mothers criticized him and asked him to ‘calm down’. Later, the hotel staff kicked him out for his troublesome behavior. As soon as the video went viral, Johnson deleted his Twitter account.
However, his company continues to face pressure from netizens to remove him from the CEO position.
VisuWell also appears to have removed the “Meet our CEO” page from its website following the backlash.

Speaking about the harassment his boyfriend faced, Jacob Geittman said: “We went to this hotel near where we live and got a lot of good photos and we were there for about an hour and just as we were about to leave we were standing outside in this little area in between. with a lot of buildings around us.
This man comes over and is an inch away from my boyfriend and says, “What are you wearing?” And he says, “A dress, why?” You shouldn’t wear that. ”
Johnson reportedly continued to verbally harass the teenager, saying, “You look disgusting, you look ridiculous, you look like an idiot. Men shouldn’t wear this. ”Later, he even hit Dalton when the teen started to walk away.
Towards the end of the video, Dalton can be heard saying, “Sorry, I’m beautiful,” to which Johnson smiles and replies, “Are you?” Johnson’s behavior was vehemently criticized on social media when the video began to circulate widely.
