Who was Salvador Ramos ?
The 18-year-old gunman who allegedly shot and killed 18 schoolchildren and two adults at a Texas elementary school sent a stranger a cryptic message “I’m about to do it” just hours before opening fire on the children.
Salvador Ramos has been identified as the suspect in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde on Tuesday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said. He was killed by police after the shooting.

An Instagram account believed to be Ramos’ contained photos of guns and selfies of himself. The account, with the username “salv8dor_,” was deleted after Abbott revealed the name of the suspected mass shooter.

That user, @epnupues, said Ramos was a complete stranger who tagged her in the gun photo and sent her a message that he “had a little secret.”
The Instagram user, who said she doesn’t live in Texas, questioned why she tagged her in the photo of the rifles and said she was afraid he would tag her.
“You are going to repost my gun photos,” @sal8dor_ DMed the girl on May 12.
“What do your guns have to do with me?” she replied on Friday.
“I just wanted to tag you,” he replied.
Then at 5:43 a.m. m. on Tuesday, @salv8dor_ sent him an “I’m about to do it” message.
The girl asked “about what” to which he replied: “I’ll tell you before 11.”
She said that she would text him in an hour and urged her to reply.
“I have a little secret I want to tell you,” she texted with a smiley face emoji covering her mouth.
He never told the girl her secret. The last message from him at 9:16 a.m. It was “Ima air out”.
Robb Elementary School was closed just hours later
About two and a half hours later, Robb Elementary School was locked down around 11:43 a.m. local time after gunshots were heard in the area, school officials wrote on Facebook.
