Ruben Sanchez, Ana Guerra Obituary
Detective Brandi George said officers responded to the Mesa home around 8:30 p.m. On Monday after being alerted by a 12-year-old girl who ran to her neighbor’s home, AZ Family reported. Sánchez and Guerra were found lying on the first floor of the house amid large amounts of blood.
His teenage daughter, Amy, was found on the second floor, George said.
All three had gunshot wounds. Investigators found a handgun and ammunition in the home.
“[This] tragic incident appears to be a murder-suicide case,” George said Tuesday.
The girl who ran out of the house suffered a gunshot wound to the wrist, George said. A neighbor who called the 911 emergency line said the girl was grabbed as she approached her home in the suburb about 19 miles (30 kilometers) east of Phoenix, the state capital.
“We took her to our porch and sat her down because she was bleeding really well,” said the neighbor. “And then we heard a shot from her, so we grabbed her, dragged her into the house … we continued with 911.”

The events leading up to the shooting were unclear and detectives have yet to say who they believe fired the shots. Marco Sánchez, an uncle of the 12-year-old survivor who he identified as Andrea, said the girl is “strong.”
“She is surrounded by good friends and family and hopefully we will help her,” said Sánchez.

The girl was shot in the arm and probably suffered a concussion. She had surgery Tuesday and she doesn’t remember what happened, Sánchez said. Sánchez said his brother Rubén went through a difficult divorce from Guerra about a year ago, but no one expected violence.
The teenage sisters lived together in Mesa’s home, but Sánchez said it was unclear why the parents were in the home at the time.
“How do you say you love your children? How do you say that? Sanchez said.” Love your children. Think twice. ‘
