A Royal Marines deserter who considered joining ISIS before brutally murdering a complete stranger ‘just to kill someone’ was jailed for life today.
Moses Christensen, 22, was wandering the countryside looking for people to kill after arming himself with combat knives on August 13 last year.
The twisted killer randomly attacked Richard Hall, 70, when his paths crossed, driving a serrated knife into his neck, face and neck.
He later called the police to confess how he had carried out a “very savage, animal and brutal” murder near the top of Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire.
A court heard how he told officers that he was overwhelmed by a “ strong desire ” to kill the retiree after previously planning a murder spree.
Christensen, of Oldswinford, Stourbridge, West Midlands, denied the murder, but was found guilty last month after a trial at Stafford Crown Court.
He today he was jailed for life to serve a minimum of 28 years, as well as 28 months to simultaneously run for possession of a knife.
