Robert Louis Singletary Biography
Robert Louis Singletary, 24, who remains on the run after shooting Kinsley White and her parents, Ashley Hilderbrand and William White, on Tuesday, had a previous run-in with the law in a December domestic violence case.
The man accused of shooting a 6-year-old North Carolina girl and her parents after a basketball rolled across their yard was previously arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend with a mini-sledgehammer.
Gastonia police said they received a call from a 21-year-old woman who accused Singletary of hitting her on the back of the head with a mini-hammer inside her apartment on December 2.
The victim, whose identity was not released publicly, said she became disoriented after the brutal blow to her, which left her head bleeding profusely.
She claimed that Singletary refused to let her leave her apartment for two hours and demanded that she first clean up all evidence of the alleged assault.
After cleaning up the mess, he said, he was allowed to leave and immediately drove to the hospital and called 911.
Singletary was arrested on December 7 and charged with assault with intent to inflict serious bodily injury, kidnapping, and communication of threats.
