Robert Brockett Wiki
Robert Brockett Biography
A MAN linked to an alleged gang acid attack at the home of a Conservative counselor has been found dead.
Robert Brockett, 41, was named by witnesses to one of three attacks targeting Graeme Campbell’s home in Strathaven, Lanarkshire.
Councilmember Graeme Campbell, pictured with his wife Fiona, has been the target of three firebombing and acid attacks.
Cllr Campbell has pledged to leave politics over the attacks
Investigation
A police investigation is ongoing
The Conservative Councilor, who sits on the South Lanarkshire Council, suffered three arson and acid attacks in less than two years.
The conservative believes he was attacked for speaking out against gangsters.
Charged
It is understood that the police did not have sufficient evidence to charge Brockett for the acid incident in August 2020, in which two BMWs were severely damaged by corrosive substances.
But Scottish conservative shadow community security minister Russell Findlay said he had learned that locals believed a suspect in the CCTV footage was Brockett.
He told the Daily Record: “This man was named a suspect in connection with the second attack on Councilor Campbell’s home.
Witness
Witnesses told police they believed he was the one on CCTV. However, this was insufficient to take further action.
“I have no doubt that this individual was related to the organized crime campaign of terror that is being waged against Mr. Campbell and other innocent people in Strathaven.”
Police investigations into the attacks on Campbell’s home continue.
But the politician has already decided to leave politics after 15 years and may even leave Scotland.
He said, “I can’t keep putting my family through these horrible experiences.
Attack
“After the first attack, my wife came to me crying because someone on social media said, ‘Maybe they will go back and kill that Conservative councilor, because there will be one less conservative family in Scotland.’ It is awful “.
We previously recounted how 200 homeowners turned down her offer to rent a new home, making it difficult for her family to feel safe.
There is a £ 3,000 reward for information on the most recent fire attack.
Addressing Brockett’s death, a Scottish police spokesman said: “A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death, which is not being treated as suspicious.
“A report will be presented to the tax attorney.”
