Richard Barnett Biography
Richard Barnett, 60, of Gravette, Ark. He was arrested in Little Rock, Ark. On Friday and charged with entering and staying on restricted land, trespassing, and theft of public property.
The Arkansas man who was photographed in Nancy Pelosi’s office with his legs on her table during the mob’s assault on the Capitol was arrested Friday, according to officials with the U.S. Department of Justice.
“The shocking images of Mr. Barnett with his boots up on a desk in the Speaker of the House’s office on Wednesday were repulsive,” said Jeffrey A. Rosen, Trump’s newly appointed acting attorney general. “Those who are shown to have committed criminal acts during the assault on the Capitol will face justice.”
Barnett, after arriving in Washington from Gravette, said she took a Pelosi letterhead envelope from the desk and left a quarter to cover the cost. The troublemaker claimed that the crowd in the hallway pushed him into Pelosi’s office, though he acknowledged that the story was unlikely to appease law enforcement.
“I’ll probably tell you this is what happened all the way to the DC jail,” he acknowledged.
“I wrote him a nasty note, put my feet on his desk,” he told The Times.
“‘Bigo’ was here bitch,” she said, referencing his nickname.
