Who is Rebecca Louise Press?
Rebecca Louise Press, 31, is charged today with killing Richard Marc Ash, in South Wales, and assaulting Michelle Chapman on the same day.
Known as Marc Ash, he was discovered on property in Elliots Town, near New Tredegar, a former mining town, after Gwent police officers were called at around 12:30am. m. on Sunday July 17.
He was found unconscious and confirmed dead at the scene in Long Row by Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics.
Arrested
Press, of Second Avenue, Trecenydd, Caerphilly, was arrested and later charged with his murder and assault causing actual bodily harm to Mrs Chapman.
The 31-year-old woman, who spoke only to confirm her name and plead not guilty to both charges on Thursday, was taken into custody to appear at her next court date on November 22.
She remains unrepresented due to the Criminal Bar Association (CBA) class action for legal fees.
Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke of Cardiff Crown Court set the trial date for January 9, 2023, which is estimated to last two to three weeks.
In a tribute, Ash’s parents said that her son was “a charming and introverted person.”
“My wife and I were blessed to be her parents,” they said. “Everyone who knew Richard Marc has nothing but praise for the kind of man he was.
“He was a lovely person and we will always remember him as such.”
