Stephen, a driver from Arbroath, Angus, has since asked other young people to learn of the family tragedy and get vaccinated.

He said: “I just lost my daughter and her children have lost a mother. It is a horrible, horrible disease.

“What really killed us was not being able to see her, hug her in the hospital. We made video calls, but the next time she saw her she was gone. Anyone can get it. If she can get vaccinated, do so. “
