Police identified the woman who was fatally struck by a flatbed truck in Brooklyn while pushing her niece in a stroller.
Rachel Gandel, 62, was crossing at Myrtle and Bedford avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, with the 1-year-old in a stroller, when the work truck crashed into her, authorities said.
Gandel was rushed to Brooklyn Hospital Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The girl was not hit by the truck, but her stroller overturned and she suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital for an evaluation, cops said.
The driver was stopped at a traffic light and was sitting too high to see the woman cross in front of him, police sources said. Police said it was unclear who had the green light.
