A barefoot grandmother has chased a thief who allegedly stole her purse from a pub table and threw it to the ground.
The old woman was at the Pimpama tavern on the Costa Dorada around 8:30 pm on January 19 when the man wearing her thong allegedly stole her purse.
Incredible footage shows her chasing the man to a nearby parking lot and knocking him to the ground by the neck and putting him in a headlock.
The accused thief eventually broke loose and retreated to the ute from her, with Grandma then walking back to the bar in triumph with her purse in her hand.
The struggle left the grandmother, who suffers from emphysema, with broken ribs, bruises and cuts on her arm.
She said she had “no idea what she was thinking” when she chased after the man after he pinched her purse, according to 7News.

The grandmother said she was out for her birthday and claimed the man stole her purse when she moved to an outside table.
Police later charged a 42-year-old man from Upper Coomera with theft.
He will face the court later this week.
