Patrick Mateo is the suspect who attacked the mother of the actress and TV host’s friend Olivia Munn, after which the armchair detectives rose to the occasion. Mateo was arrested and charged with assault and harassment. Munn thanked the Internet for her help in locating the attacker.
The 40-year-old actress had asked the Internet for help in tracking down Mateo, who was arrested after a video emerged of a suspect violently pushing a 52-year-old Asian woman to the ground on a New York City street.
“This is the guy you guys helped @nypd find and arrest,” Munn wrote on Twitter along with a video of the incident. “This is him attacking my friend’s mother, who is a 5-foot-3 little Chinese woman. Fuck this guy,” she added. “The Internet is undefeated. Thank you, thank you, thank you, ”the tweet read.

Patrick Mateo, who is from Queens, New York, was taken into custody by the New York Police Department on Thursday and charged with assault and stalking, according to TMZ. Officers say they responded to a 911 call Tuesday for an assault outside a bakery on Roosevelt Avenue.
The video shows Mateo throwing an item at the woman outside the New Flushing Bakery, located at 135-45 Roosevelt Ave., a major thoroughfare, around 2 p.m. He then grabbed the woman, Munn’s friend’s Chinese mother, with both hands and pushed her a few steps back.
He then threw her aggressively to the ground, after which he turned around and walked away from her. Police said the victim sustained minor head injuries and was taken to Booth Hospital by EMS. The woman’s daughter, Maggie Kayla Cheng, in a Facebook post, said her mother was pushed “so hard that she hit her head on the concrete and passed out on the ground,” according to the Daily Mail.

Munn used social media to shed light on the case. “My friend’s mom is a 5’3 ′ 50+ Chinese woman and she was attacked,” Munn wrote, adding, “She left the hospital with 10 stitches on her head. We’re going to find this guy. Queens, Internet, please … do your shit. ”
The woman hit her head against an object and passed out on the sidewalk. She was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Queens, where she had about 10 stitches done to close the wound on her forehead. “She is glad to be alive,” the son said of his mother. “She’s happy that she got away with a pretty gnarly wound, but not enough to incapacitate her.”

Mateo has been arrested. There were no charges against Mateo indicating that the crime was racially motivated. The victim’s daughter had claimed online that Mateo had used racial slurs prior to the incident.
Munn’s tweet immediately went viral. Detectives with the New York Police Department were able to locate Mateo, who lives a few blocks from the bakery in Flushing where he attacked Cheng’s mother.
