Who was Patrick Boyle?
Liverpool’s Patrick Boyle was shot twice in the chest at New Way, Huyton, at 17:55 BST on July 1. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital. House-to-house investigations and CCTV analysis have been carried out as officers work to establish the circumstances that led to the shooting.
Detective Ch Insp Simon Hurst said Merseyside police were supporting Boyle’s family. Police are now asking drivers who were in the area to send in dashcam footage to aid in their investigation.

Patrick Boyle was shot twice in the chest at Newway in Huyton on the afternoon of July 1. They took him to the hospital but he died shortly after. Police are now asking drivers who were in the area to send in dashcam footage to aid in their investigation.
We are supporting Mr. Boyle’s family in what is clearly an extremely difficult time for them. They have lost a son, father, brother and partner at a very young age, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure that all those responsible for taking Mr. Boyle from them are brought to justice.
“While we have spoken with potential witnesses, conducted an extensive forensic examination of the scene and are tracking CCTV hours from the local area, we believe that drivers in the vicinity could have vital clues as to what happened.
“If you have a dash cam and were in the vicinity of Newway between 5.30 and 6.30 pm on Thursday, July 1, I urge you to check your images for something significant, particularly a man on a bicycle that we believe is responsible for Mr. Boyle’s murder and who had reportedly ridden his bicycle in the direction of Liverpool Road.
“Please contact us urgently if you have a dash cam, mobile phone, or CCTV footage of Newway and the surrounding area at that time. We continue to make good progress with the investigation, and any additional information that we may gather could be vital in presenting it. the man who did this to justice. “
