Patricia A. Hoeltgen, born Pat Schottenheimer, is the wife of Marty Schottenheimer, a linebacker and football coach who served as the head coach in the National Football League (NFL) for 21 seasons. She died on February 8, 2021 in Charlotte, North Carolina, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease at age 77.

Pat married Schottenheimer in 1968. While talking about Alzheimer’s disease, Pat said: “We are doing everything we can and we are lucky that we have good medical help, but there is not much out there. We’re just going to get by. The children, the grandchildren, Phoebe (the cocker spaniel) and I, we will manage ”.
