Who was Paramhans Desai ?

The Henry County Police Department announced Monday night that Officer Paramhans Desai has died after he was shot last week as he attempted to make an arrest.

Officer Desai succumbed to his injuries with his family by his side today at approximately 9:55 pm. Desai is survived by his wife and two young children. Officer Desai continues to serve, even in his death, donating multiple organs that will save numerous lives.

He continues to support Officer Desai’s family in his thoughts and prayers during this terrible tragedy. Arrangements for the funeral will be announced at a later date. ”

Suspect

Amerman adds that Jackson is “armed and dangerous” and has not been captured. He exited the scene in a white 2016 Honda Civic with license plate RXF0384.

Later, police said the suspect was possibly riding in a 2021 white Dodge Ram with Georgia tag CRX4743, but the Dodge was later recovered.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has issued a Blue Alert for Jackson, as he has not yet been located. A “Blue Alert” is issued for a suspect wanted for wounding or killing a police officer.

On Thursday night, GBI launched a “Blue Alert” for Jackson. A “Blue Alert” is issued for a suspect believed to have seriously injured or killed a police officer.

Police say there is a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault.

Police say the police officer was initially taken to Atlanta Medical Center. He was reportedly later transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital.

As of Friday afternoon, the officer was in critical but stable condition. The officer has not been identified.

A neighbor told us that he sees Jackson passing by frequently and thinks he lives in the neighborhood.
