A Tennessee woman died and a police officer was rushed to surgery after a parking lot shooting, graphic video shows.
Footage from the Friday morning encounter between Metro Nashville Police Officer Josh Baker and Nika N. Holbert, 31, shows the 14-year-old veteran police officer deploying his Taser on the woman while ordering her to get out of a car. .

Baker then attempts to stop the woman as she screams and takes a pistol, opening fire on the officer, who shoots and fatally wounds Holbert, the intense footage shows.
“Ma’am, she’s about to be attacked,” Baker tells Holbert as she starts to run away as the officer tries to handcuff her, according to the video. “Get down! Get down on the ground!”
Holbert, who was smoking a cigarette at the time, ignores police orders and returns to her car, where they hit her with the stun gun. He then yells for help as she fights with Baker as he sits in the driver’s seat and appears to search for a weapon, images show.

Baker falls to the ground after being shot and calls for backup, telling a dispatcher “shots” as Holbert walks away, shows the clip.
Holbert was later pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.
Baker, who was struck under his bulletproof vest, was in stable condition after undergoing surgery, police spokesman Don Aaron said in a video statement.
Holbert was taken into custody after Baker noticed that the registered owner of the Chevrolet Camaro he was driving was wanted on multiple drug warrants. She was alone at the time, the video shows.
Demond M. Buchanan, the man with whom the vehicle Nika Nicole Holbert was driving was registered.
After the shooting, Holbert threw a semi-automatic pistol into the parking lot, where she was later recovered, Aaron said.
Holbert initially cooperated with Baker, but “her compliance changed” when the officer found what appeared to be marijuana and a powdered white substance in her purse, prompting him to try to detain her until reinforcements arrived, Aaron said.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and prosecutors with the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing the fatal shooting, Aaron said.
