Nicole Rose Scott Wiki
Nicole Rose Scott Biography
Who was Nicole Rose Scott ?
A Florida man revealed to police that he was the culprit in an unsolved murder case in 2011 of a 29-year-old woman.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said Benjamin Moulton, 43, turned himself in and confessed to the murder of Nicole Rose Scott of Saratosa in 2011.
Moulton allegedly told police that he had ‘found Jehovah and could no longer live with the guilt.’
He has since been charged with first degree murder.
Investigators said Moulton walked into the police station Wednesday and shared details about the homicide that had not been made public and that only someone involved in the murder would know.
On December 11, 2011, Scott’s body was found partially clothed by a motorcyclist around University Parkway in the Lakewood Ranch lumber area near The Concession Golf Club.
His face showed visible signs that he had suffered a violent death.
Authorities had said that she died at least two days before they found her.
An autopsy later revealed that she was strangled, but police did not immediately release the information in the hope that the killer would not be alerted.
At the time Scott’s body was found, police conducted an investigation and followed the leads that led them to Moulton.
He denied being involved in the murder and, due to lack of evidence, could not be linked to the crime.
Police continued to investigate the murder for a decade, but were unable to do justice to Scott until Moulton reportedly showed up at the station and confessed to strangling her during a fit of rage.
When asked by the police what motivated him to confess, she said that she had ‘found Jehovah and could no longer live with the guilt.’
It is unclear how the paths of Moulton and Scott crossed, as police are still questioning Moulton about the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Moulton has multiple felonies for not seeing traffic lights, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, breaking and entering, robbery and resisting arrest.
In 2012, a year after Scott’s murder, he was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and sexual assault with a weapon.
Scott also had a long history that included multiple counts of drug possession, loitering, robbery, fraud, theft, prostitution and vehicle theft, according to YourObserver.com.
She was not employed at the time of her death.
“We cannot say with certainty that her troublesome past is related to her death, but certainly, that is possible,” one of the researchers told the outlet in 2011.
