A man walking his dog found Baker dangling from a rope hanging from a tree in Barker Park in Orlando. The witness saw Baker’s body around 3:45 a.m. The Orlando Sentinel reported that Baker was found on Sunday, October 4, according to a police document. However, the obituary and GoFundMe campaign started by Baker’s sister states that Baker died on October 5. Heavy reached out to the Orlando Police Department for clarification.
The medical investigator decided that Baker’s death was suicide. The autopsy has not been made public. Heavy emailed the Orange County Office of Medical Examination asking if the report would be made public and requested a copy.

What Baker’ mom said about Him
Baker’s mother, Sharhonda James, told the Orlando Sentinel that she noticed the wounds on his face when she saw her son’s body in the morgue. James explained to reporter Grace Toohey that Baker’s chin was out of place, her nose was swollen and she had “lumps on her forehead.” James added that she asked Orlando Police to display her photos at the park, but her request has not yet been granted.

The Orlando Police Department has not released the allegation that Baker may have been beaten prior to his death. Police testimony released on October 9 did not contain specific details about the condition of Baker’s body when it was found.
