 Who is Nate Silvester?

Nate Silvester, an Idaho law enforcement officer who gained notoriety for his TikTok videos, was fired from his job. In a Facebook post Thursday morning, Bellevue Mayor Ned Burns wrote that Deputy Marshal Nate Silvester was fired from the Bellevue City Marshal’s office for “continuing violations of policy.”

According to Burns, Silvester violated “various” city and state policing policies during the week of May 20. Due to previous policy violations, Silvester had been placed in a “last chance deal” with his commanding officers.

“Due to his continued policy violations, the Sheriff has fired Mr. Sylvester as of May 27, 2021,” Burns wrote. The mayor said Silvester’s firing had nothing to do with the online postings of him that first brought him into public view.

The Idaho cop who went viral for a TikTok video taunting LeBron James for meddling in law enforcement has been fired.

“I’m the latest target of the cancellation culture,” former Bellevue deputy quarterback Nate Silvester told Sean Hannity on his Fox News show Thursday, hours after he was fired. That’s all it is, “insisted the officer who went viral.

Silvester was initially suspended for his April 24 TikTok mocking the basketball legend, who was forced to apologize for inflammatory posts about surveillance following the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant.

In the clip of him, Silvester pretended to have a phone conversation with the NBA superstar to get advice from him as he witnessed an imaginary black person attempting to stab another black person.

“So you don’t care if a black person kills another black person, but you do care if a white cop kills a black person, even if he does it to save the life of another black person?” Silvester said.

“I mean it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but again you’re very good at basketball so I guess I’ll take your word for it,” he said, adding “#humanizethebadge” in the viral video.

He was fired Thursday for what Bellevue Mayor Ned Burns said were “continuing violations of policy” after he already had a “last chance deal” with his senior officers. “He was not fired for the content of his speech; he was fired for not following a clearly established and well-established policy, ”the city insisted in a statement on Facebook.

“The decision was made solely by the command structure within the Bellevue Marshals office and was not influenced in any way by me or the City Council,” Burns insisted, calling for “calm and understanding.”

Silvester insisted that the witty videos of him are an attempt to “humanize the insignia.”

“None of my other videos showing me in my uniform or involving body camera footage, none of those mattered. They didn’t care about those. It wasn’t until my LeBron James TikTok hit a political nerve that they started paying attention and complaining and came up with forms of discipline, “he told Hannity.
