Narineh Avakian Biography
Narineh Avakian was discovered near Mt. Waterman Trail in Angeles National Forest in San Fernando around 1:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Glendale Police Department said.
Avakian was last seen when she left her home in Glendale on March 7 for a day-long hiking expedition, police said. But when she did not return the next day, her family reported her disappearance to the authorities.

Earlier this week, Glendale Police contacted the women’s hiking groups to distribute missing persons brochures, posted a missing persons bulletin on social media platforms and reported that she was driving a Subaru Impreza, license plate California 8JSH794.
At approximately 3 p.m. On Thursday, the vehicle was parked in the Buckhorn day-use area along the Angeles Crest Freeway, Hauptmann said.
“It should be noted that this area was heavily affected by the recent snow storm,” he said.
“Upon locating Narineh’s vehicle, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department search and rescue personnel were immediately deployed with a large contingency of sworn and volunteer personnel,” Hauptmann said. “His search efforts for her continued when approximately 12 inches of snow fell overnight; But due to worsening weather conditions, the search ended around 2 a.m. (Friday) in the morning. A few hours later, the search was able to resume with even more resources and is currently active. ”
Cause of death
Narineh Avakian was found near the Mount Waterman Trail. She was reported missing Monday by members of her family after she left her home around noon Sunday, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Christian Hauptmann.
She disappeared while hiking in the Angeles National Forest last weekend and was found dead Saturday, police said. Narineh’s family told police that it was common for her to go on group hikes and solo trips, although she had recently gone alone.
On Thursday afternoon, his car was found parked in the Buckhorn day-use area along the Angeles Crest Freeway, authorities said.
“It should be noted that this area was badly affected by the recent snow storm,” police said Friday. No crime is suspected in his death, but the investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
Based on a preliminary investigation, authorities said there appears to have been no foul play in her death. An investigation into the cause of death is underway.
“Before leaving, Narineh told her family that she was going on a day trip, but she did not provide a location and she never returned home,” Hauptmann said.
Glendale police investigators were dispatched to examine the vehicle and tow it back to the police station for further processing, Hauptmann said.
