The report revealed that the country legend took his own life with a gunshot wound to the head.

The autopsy report revealed that Judd struggled with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.

The report from the Nashville Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Judd struggled with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder.

It also revealed that the country singer had several prescription medications for post-traumatic stress and bipolar disorder in her system.

In a statement, her family said: “We have always openly shared both the joys of being a family as well as her sorrows. Part of our story is that our matriarch was persecuted by an unjust enemy.

She “was treated for PTSD and bipolar disorder, which millions of Americans can relate to.”

Shot

Judd took his own life on April 30, the day before The Judds were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

In May, his daughter Ashley revealed that her mother had shot herself, telling Good Morning America, “She used a gun, my mother used a gun.”

She added: “She was in pain in her brain, she was in pain in her body and I have the extremely difficult task of revealing the matter in the way my mother chose to go on living.”

Ashley revealed that she was the one who discovered her mother’s body, saying: “It was a mixed day. I visit my mother and I show up every day when I’m home in Tennessee, so I was home visiting like I do every day. days”. day.

“Mom told me, ‘Will you stay with me?’ and I was like, ‘Of course I will.’ I went upstairs to let her know her good friend was there and I found her out. I’m in pain and trauma from finding her out.”

MENTAL HEALTH BATTLE

Judd had detailed his struggle with mental health in a harrowing interview before his death.

In a 2016 interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, Judd revealed the “completely debilitating and life-threatening” depression that he battled.

Judd also documented his struggles in his book, “River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged with Hope.”

When she was asked why she was willing to speak publicly about her battle, Judd said, “because what I’ve been through is extreme.”

“Because it was so deep and completely debilitating and life-threatening and because I processed it and worked so hard for these last four years.”

Judd remembers thinking, “If I survive this, I want someone to be able to see that she can survive.”

STRUGGLE OF CHILDHOOD

The singer said her struggles stemmed from being sexually abused by a member of her family when she was a child.

“I think that’s one of the reasons why she wanted to write the book … because I never recognized all the bad things that people did to me,” she said.

Judd had no immediate family there to support her, she said, so she could only rely on herself.

“I had to realize that I had to somehow raise myself,” Judd said.

“We all have this inner child, and I needed, for the first time in my life, to realize that I got a raw deal, OK, I’m a big girl now. Put on your big girl pants and deal with it.

“I started in therapy, and I call it radical acceptance,” she said. “Every day I exercised.”

‘DARK HOLE OF THE DEPRESSION’

In 2017, Judd said in an interview on TODAY that at one point, “I didn’t get up from the couch for two years.”

“I was so depressed I couldn’t move. My husband, my friends and Ashley would come over and I would go upstairs and lock my bedroom door.”

Judd added that she even contemplated suicide.

“That’s how bad it can get,” she added.

“It’s hard to describe. You sink into this deep, dark hole of depression and don’t think there’s another minute.”

She said that at one point, her family called 911 in the middle of the night to get the help she needed.
