Mylee Billingham Biography
Mylee Billingham was the daughter of William Billingham. He was jailed in 2018 and told that he would serve a minimum of 27 years after being convicted of the murder of Mylee Billingham. At the Birmingham Crown Court trial, Mylee was said to have been stabbed in January 2018 in a “revenge” attack.
Opening an investigation, the coroner said her death at HMP Birmingham on Friday was likely related to a lung condition. Coroner James Bennett was told that the father of six had died when paramedics arrived at the prison.
He said that Billingham’s death is likely related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and confirmed that she had complained of discomfort and was evaluated by medical staff the day before.

Cause of death
The Prison Service said Billingham, 57, died last Friday, but did not confirm the cause of death.
In a trial in Birmingham Crown Court, elementary school student Mylee was said to have been stabbed in January 2018 in a “revenge” attack motivated by jealousy and anger against Billingham’s ex-partner, Tracey Taundry. Jurors were told that Billingham, of Valley View, Brownhills, near Walsall, killed Mylee after dragging her into her bungalow when her mother came looking for her.
She was also sentenced to a simultaneous two-year prison term for pointing a kitchen knife at Miss Taundry’s throat moments before the murder. The father of six, brother of television star SAS Who Dares Wins, Mark Billingham, attempted suicide while on remand during the trial.
After the hearing, his attorney said that the then 55-year-old had no desire to live due to his remorse for the murder. Offering mitigation before sentencing in October 2018, defense attorney Balraj Bhatia said: “This court will punish you in terms of years. His punishment, to use his own words, is that he is still breathing.
“Just this morning, as he was preparing him for the shock statement, there was a palpable wave of hatred from every prisoner who passed through the cell. To use his own words, he cannot live with this, nor does he want to live with this. ”
A Prison Service spokesman said: “HMP Birmingham inmate William Billingham died in custody on March 19, 2021. The Prison and Parole Ombudsman has been reported.”
