Who is Mt. Tabor High School ?
There were reports of an active shooter at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The campus is now safe.
“One student is injured, all other students are safe,” the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department wrote on Facebook.
A police dispatcher said on the live scanner that authorities received a report from a parent that a video was posted on Snapchat prior to the shooting. Hear live scanner audio here. At one point, they talked about having guards on the children who were sheltering at the scene. Authorities said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie and “all black.” He left on foot.
“The suspect was in the cafeteria, so he left on foot from that place,” said a person in the dispatch audio. One person “has been shot,” the dispatcher said. Later, an officer said the suspect was “running into the parking lot.” The injured person was a man. The dispatcher said that “the suspect dropped something on the suspect.” However, another officer said no one heard a shooting in the cafeteria. The victim was shot in a classroom, they said.

Police asked parents not to respond to Mt. Tabor High School
“Parents, don’t respond to Mt. Tabor High School. We will post the pickup locations as soon as possible, ”Winston-Salem police wrote on Twitter. The Sheriff’s Department wrote: “UPDATE: They are transporting all students to the Robinhood Family YMCA. Parents can show up there to meet their children. Reunification will take some time as the students will be transported in stages. ”

The school had yet to post information on its website or on its Twitter page. Reports of active shooters erupted just before 1 p.m. on the east coast.
Authorities have yet to confirm the number of people shot or anything about a suspect. ATF Charlotte wrote on Twitter: “ATF Special Agents Responding to Incident at Mount Tabor High School in Winston Salem.”
Frenzied parents weighed in on social media
Frantazia Hines told Journal Now that she was on the phone with her sister, who attends Mount Tabor, shortly after 12 p.m. when she heard “multiple shots” being fired.

“There is a shooting at my grandchildren’s school.
