Moses Christensen is a former royal marine who considered joining ISIS before brutally murdering a complete stranger “just to kill someone. He was reportedly wandering the countryside looking for people to kill after arming himself with combat knives on the 13th. August of last year.
The twisted killer randomly attacked Richard Hall, 70, when his paths crossed, driving a serrated knife into his neck, face and neck. He later called the police to confess how he had carried out a “very savage, animal and brutal” murder near the top of Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire.

A court heard how he told officers that he was overwhelmed by a “strong desire” to kill the retiree after planning a murder spree. Christensen denied the murder, but was found guilty last month after a trial at Stafford Crown Court.
He today he was jailed for life to serve a minimum of 28 years, as well as 28 months to simultaneously run for possession of a knife.
In sentencing, Judge Pepperall told Christensen that he showed him his victim “without mercy” and called the attack “a brutal and completely senseless murder of an innocent stranger who had caused him no offense.”

The court heard that Christensen became obsessed with playing violent video games like Grand Theft Auto and considered joining ISIS before carrying out the assassination.
Jurors were also told how he had intended to go on a murder spree and had been planning a massacre for several months. He bought two deadly blades on the internet and had previously used one to kill sheep for food while living in the countryside.
But his concerned parents contacted the police when he started talking about his desire to kill and also get revenge on his former school teachers and his children.

When officers found Christensen they told the court that he had carried out the murder after searching the area for people to kill. Christensen admitted: “I would like to point out, first of all, that this murder was not just a burst of emotion. It was not spontaneous, he had planned to kill people. ”
“The attack was and I quote ‘very wild, animal and very brutal’. At the end of the attack, he stabbed him one last time to make sure he was dead.”
West Mercia Police Detective Chief Inspector Mark Bellamy later said: “I am pleased that a meaningful sentence was handed down to Moses Christensen for the brutal murder of Richard Hall.
“Christensen is a dangerous individual who will now serve a hefty sentence in prison where he cannot cause further harm to the general public.
“Richard Hall’s family was understandably shattered, Richard was simply taking a walk down Brown Clee Hill when he tragically died in a senseless attack, and my thoughts and condolences remain with them.”
